On Sunday 30 June 2013, 'Team Maher Ross' were delighted to support personnel from the Island's Fire and Rescue Service who are attempting to raise over £20,000 towards the Wessex Cancer Trust, Seeds4Change and the Firefighters' Charity.

The "100 Here 100 There" challenge was to cycle around the Island and to complete at least 100 KM or 100 Miles.  The Maher Ross Team opted for the easier 100 KM route (of Course!).

Team Maher Ross were delighted to support the Island's Firefighters again, and raised over £400 in sponsorship for their charities by completing the 66 mile route. Together with the sponsorship provided by Maher Ross adds up to over £750 in support of the charities.  The team included Directors Chris Maher and Graham Jolliffe, together with Mark Stevens, Edd Jolliffe and Gavin Nightingale (Lofty).

The team completed the event after about 4 and a half hours of cycling - not including a large number of lunch, sandwich and cake stops along the way.  This probably had something to do with the 4 'blowouts' and tyre changes required during the route - all of them Graham's!  A well deserved pint of beer in the Fishbourne Inn completed a really enjoyable day.

We would like to thank the Island's Fire and Rescue Service for inviting us to help them to provide some really important support for charities that are genuinely important for Islanders - we'd also like to thank them for a really well organised and fun day - well done!
